| 時光荏苒,轉眼間春季已到尾聲,回顧這段日子,校園內處處洋溢着同學們的歡笑聲與好奇心。在3月31日,我們迎來了一個活力的早晨,朱瑞蘭(中英文)幼稚園的師生及家長蒞臨本校,與我們的一、二年級同學攜手舉行了「小兔跳跳跳!復活節運動會」。看着孩子們穿梭於禮堂,那張燦爛笑容與精神抖擻的模樣,就是對我們教育工作最大的肯定,衷心多謝幼稚園譚校長及團隊的悉心籌備,繽紛的活動物資不僅引起學生興趣,更為初小學生提供了活動身心的珍貴契機。當天下午,四、五年級的同學走出課室,前往屯門龍鼓灘參與由環境及自然保育基金資助、環護教育基金會主辦的「山海清潔與自然學習活動」。同學們不怕辛勞地在海灘上清理垃圾,這不僅是一場戶外活動,更是一堂深刻的環境保育課,讓同學們在親身體會愛護地球的責任。 |
| Time flies, and as the spring season draws to a close, our school remains filled with the joyful laughter and studious enthusiasm of our students. On 31st March, we enjoyed a vibrant morning as the teachers, students, and parents from Chu Sui Lan Anglo-Chinese Kindergarten visited us to hold the "Little Rabbit Hop Hop! Easter Sports Day" alongside our P1 and P2 students. Seeing the children’s radiant smiles as they moved through the school hall was the greatest affirmation of our educational work; we extend our heartfelt thanks to Principal Tam and her team for their meticulous preparation and the colorful activity materials that provided a wonderful opportunity for our junior students to exercise and grow. That same afternoon, our P4 and P5 students ventured out to Long Kwu Tan in Tuen Mun to participate in the "Mountain and Sea Cleaning and Nature Learning Activity," sponsored by the Environment and Conservation Fund and organized by the Conservation E3 Foundation. The students worked tirelessly to clear trash from the beach, gaining a profound lesson in environmental conservation and realizing their responsibility to protect the Earth. |

| 踏入四月,校園的學習氣氛依舊濃厚,我們希望促進家校連結,並在4月1日舉辦了親子歷奇活動。透過專業導師的引領,參與的家長與同學們在禮堂內共同挑戰各項任務,看見他們在活動中互相扶持、合作無間,聽着活動的笑聲,我們深切感受到家校合作帶給孩子們的健康成長。與此同時,學校亦持續推廣傳統文化,我們安排了硬筆及毛筆書法課堂,引導學生領略中華文化的藝術底蘊,學習執筆與坐姿的同時,更學會了欣賞文字,讓孩子在繁忙的學業中得到放鬆。而對於一年級的小朋友們,我們邀請了世界武術錦標賽金獎得主蒞臨傳授雙節棍,同學們目光堅定、態度積極的表現,充分展現了他們認真學習的堅毅精神。至於四至六年級的同學化身「小小說書人」,在由7A班戲劇組導師指導的引導下深入淺出地研讀文言文,這不僅是閱讀訓練,更是為日後的中學學習打下文言基礎;而三、四及六年級學生參與由全仁中醫主辦的講座「中醫乜東東」。是次講座主要向同學介紹「經絡系統」及「針灸」知識。老師透過生動有趣的方法,帶領同學認識身體的「高速公路」(經絡),並了解穴位與健康的關係。想不到同學們極為集中參與是次活動,令大家對傳統中醫智慧都多了一些認識。 |
| As we entered April, the learning atmosphere remained strong with a focus on strengthening the bond between home and school. On 1st April, we held a parent-child adventure activity where families worked together to complete challenges under the guidance of professional instructors. It was wonderful to see everyone supporting each other and sharing so much laughter. At the same time, we continue to promote traditional culture through our calligraphy courses. Students are learning the art of both hard pen and brush calligraphy, which helps them find inner peace and appreciation for art amidst their busy studies. For our P1 students, we were honored to invite a world martial arts champion to teach them nunchaku, and their focused attitude truly showed their determination. Meanwhile, students in P4 to P6 became "Little Storytellers" to study Classical Chinese with help from the 7A Drama Group, building a strong foundation for their future studies. Additionally, students in P3, P4 and P6 students attended a talk on Chinese medicine where they learned about meridians and acupuncture in a fun and engaging way. |

| 在4月2日我們迎來了每年一度的龍岡日。在早上老師們已早早回校處理各項校務;午膳過後,校園內洋溢著期待的氣氛,得獎與參與表演的同學們陸續集合,與老師們一同前往屬校中學參加典禮 。在那舞台上,無論是登台獻藝還是台下觀禮,同學們的表現皆落落大方、出類拔萃。特別是英詩初級組集誦隊的成員,以那份純真可愛的神態與鎮定自若的台風,贏得了中學校長及老師們的一致讚譽 。在上月,他們與高級組同學攜手出戰《香港聯校演說馬拉松》,分別摘下了亞軍與季軍的殊榮,這份榮耀至今仍讓人津津樂道。喜悅的音符不僅迴盪在演說的舞台,更延續到了戲劇的殿堂。上月我們參加了香港學校戲劇節,近日成績揭曉,成果令人驚嘆 。在比賽設立的傑出劇本獎、傑出導演獎、傑出演員獎、傑出舞台效果獎、傑出合作獎以及傑出整體演出獎這六大獎項中。如此佳績,真可謂一時無兩,實屬難能可貴。我看著這群學生與老師們,心中滿溢著難以言喻的驕傲。依然深刻記得在為家長安排的特別場演出中,同學們那真摯動人的表演,贏得了現場不斷的熱烈掌聲。許多家長在台下更是看得熱淚盈眶,感嘆孩子們將自身的成長經歷融入戲劇,那份不留痕跡的自然與真情流露,最是觸動人心 。 |
| On 2nd April, we celebrated our annual Lung Kong Day. After teachers finished their school duties, we headed to our member secondary school for a special ceremony. Whether performing on stage or watching from the audience, our students were outstanding. Our Junior English Choral Speaking team received high praise from secondary school principals for their natural and confident performance. This follows their recent success in the Hong Kong Inter-School Speech Marathon, where they and the senior teams won second and third place. We also achieved incredible results in the Hong Kong School Drama Festival. Our school swept all six major awards, including Best Script, Best Director, and Best Overall Performance, along with a special Adjudicators' Award. I am so proud of our students and teachers. During a special performance for parents, the students’ sincere acting moved many to tears, resulting in several minutes of standing ovations. |

| 在4月3日至4月13日迎來了為期十一天的清明及復活節長假,適逢大家剛剛完成了總評二的挑戰,這段假期正好成為了洗滌疲累、舒緩身心的及時雨,讓每位孩子都能在忙碌的學習節奏中得到悠然的時間。 |
| From 3rd April to 13th April, we enjoyed an 11-day holiday for Ching Ming and Easter. This break was a perfect time for students to rest and recover after completing their summative assessment 2. |
| 而我在復活節期間受昔日的夥伴梁少婷老師,她現在已經榮升校長。她誠摯邀請再度踏足佛山,與她目前服務的海口小學、昔日協作的東鄱小學,以及聚錦小學、教師發展中心教研室英語教研員賴欣怡小姐共同舉辦了一場教育工作坊,並正式知會了兩地的教育部門,延續這份跨越多年的學術情誼。回溯至2010/11及2011/12年度,我有幸連續兩年借調至教育局小學校本課程發展組,參與「香港教師赴內地交流協作試點計劃」,遠赴佛山禪城區為當地的小學英語教師提供課程剪裁、教學示範、課業設計及專業發展等支援 。轉瞬十六載已過,令人感佩的是,當時共同奮鬥的夥伴至今仍保持著深厚的聯繫 。即便在疫情肆虐期間,我們依然利用網上平台交流不輟,透過互觀課堂、研討設計來切磋琢磨。這種跨越地域的協作模式,獲得了教育局學校發展支援組的嘉許,將我們分享心得刊載於教育局姊妹學校計劃網站( https://sss.edb.gov.hk ),與全港同業共勉。 |
| During this time, I was invited by my former colleague, Principal Leung Siu-ting, to visit Foshan for an education workshop. This trip allowed me to reconnect with schools I first worked with back in 2010 when I was seconded to the Education Bureau. It is heartwarming that these professional friendships have lasted over sixteen years. Even during the pandemic, we continued to exchange ideas online, and our collaboration has been recognized on the Education Bureau’s Sister School website. |

本次交流以「In & Out of the Curriculums」為主題,我們深度檢視了兩地英語課程的內核,並共同強調了單元整體教學設計與作業設計的關鍵作用。研討過程中,我們重新審視內地英語課程的要求,並將其精髓融入課業設計中,同時研讀多篇學術科研文章,確保每一份教學設計背後都有堅實的理論支撐。分組活動時,老師們以四年級課本為核心,各組別出心裁地設計出多樣化的課業,激盪出不少亮眼的火花 。針對現今人工智能(AI)的浪潮,我們深入討論了問題導向學習的重要性,特別指導老師們如何精準地提出指令(prompts) 。此外,我也分享了香港英語課程的最新趨勢,涵蓋評估革新、價值觀教育、電子學習及跨課程閱讀等範疇,並輔以本校實例與教育局文件進行深度交流 。最後,我向老師們提倡「非正式課程」的價值,鼓勵在小息或假期安排閱讀計劃、口語訓練、主題日等任務,引導學生在潛移默化中建立自學能力。儘管與梁校長多年未見,平日僅靠微信維繫,但重逢之時,彼此對教育的熱情讓我們有著聊不完的話題 。看著她在教育事業上的成就,我深切體會到教育正是一場薪火相傳的旅程 。這次交流再次叮嚀了我:我是一個骨子裡熱愛傳遞知識給學生、樂於與同行分享經驗的教育工作者;正因這份熱愛,我無比珍惜我的崗位,從未萌生過離開的念頭 。 |
The theme of this exchange was "In & Out of the Curriculums," where we looked deeply at English lesson designs and the importance of unit planning. We discussed how to incorporate the latest academic research and how to use artificial intelligence (AI) effectively by writing precise prompts. I also shared recent trends in the Hong Kong curriculum, such as e-learning and values education. This experience reminded me how much I love sharing knowledge with both students and colleagues, and I truly cherish my role as an educator. |

在4月14日這天,我們全體教師前往位於大角咀的屬校中學,參與了一場充實的專業發展日 。當天,該校的電腦老師為我們剖析了AI的多元應用並展示實例,讓我們在掌握這項新科技時更有信心,正契合了數字教育的大趨勢 。唯有老師先武裝好自己,才能帶領學生邁向未來 。在學習AI應用知識後,我們舉行了多肉植物盆栽製作的心靈治療工作坊,在微小的綠意中尋找片刻的寧靜與療癒 。這次活動不僅精進了我們的專業知能,更提醒我們在忙碌的教學生涯中,擁有良好的心理素質才是支持我們走得更遠的最重要元素。 |
On 14th April, our entire teaching staff attended a professional development day at our member secondary school in Tai Kok Tsui. We learned more about the practical uses of AI and participated in a succulent planting workshop for mental wellness. Taking care of our mental health is essential to being strong, effective teachers. |

為了推廣健康生活與閱讀風氣,我們在4月20日舉辦了水果日,邀請機構在有蓋操場舉行不同的活動,宣揚不單止吃得健康,也要多做運動,讓同學意識到運動及飲食的重要性。 |
To promote a healthy lifestyle, we held Fruit Day on 20th April, featuring activities that encouraged both good nutrition and regular exercise. |

4月23日為世界閱讀日,則是一場書香盛宴,我們在禮堂舉行了啟動禮,全校師生齊聲朗讀閱讀宣言,我更在活動中與同學分享了中英文好書,以及關於流行歌詞背後意義的電子讀物,沒想到大家反應熱烈,而校內邀請嘉賓講故事及課室內的延展活動,更期盼能將閱讀的樂趣植根於孩子心中,鼓勵他們持之以恆。 |
This was followed by World Book Day on 23rd April, where the whole school joined in a reading manifesto. I enjoyed sharing some of my favorite books and digital readings about the meaning behind popular lyrics with the students. We hope these guest storytelling sessions and classroom activities will help children find a lifelong joy in reading. |

4月25日的家長日,這是我們與各位進行深度交流的重要日子。當日我們派發了總評二的成績表,並與家長們細談學生在校內的表現,老師們亦藉此機會更深入了解孩子在家的情況,以達致家校合作的理想目標。特別是六年級的家長,感謝你們撥冗回校與班主任商討升中中央派位的安排。衷心感謝各位家長一直以來的信任與配合,我們共同的目標,便是希望每一位孩子都能在充滿愛的環境中成長,並順利升讀適合自己的心儀中學,開展人生新的篇章。 |
We held our Parents' Day on 25th April to discuss the summative assessment 2 results and student progress. It was a valuable time for teachers and parents to communicate more deeply. I want to specifically thank the P6 parents for coming to discuss the arrangements for secondary school placement. Thank you for your continued trust and cooperation. Our shared goal is to see every child grow in a loving environment and successfully move on to the next chapter of their lives in a school that suits them best. |

Although spring has quietly slipped away to make way for summer, it has left behind clues of its passing. Whether it be the brilliant bloom of beautiful flowers, the ripening of sweet fruits, or the birth of new life, these are sights that can be easily admired at LTY every year. |
