| Dear parents and students, |
| 當大家讀到這篇文章的時候，新學年已經正式展開。回望剛剛過去的暑假，相信不少同學都渡過了一段充實而有效的時光。今年的夏天特別炎熱，甚至打破了香港有史以來的最高氣溫紀錄，不知道大家在這樣酷熱的日子裏，是如何善用假期、好好安排自己的生活和學習呢？ |
| When everyone reads this article, the new school academic year has already started. Looking back at the summer vacation that just passed, I believe many students have spent a fulfilling and fruitful time. This summer was particularly hot, even breaking the highest temperature record in Hong Kong's history. I wonder how everyone made good use of the holidays and arranged their own lives and learning well in such hot days? |
| 在剛過去的暑假，學校除了如常舉辦多項暑期活動外，亦借出本校校舍給協匡會，方便他們的學生舉行活動。看着一班學生在操場上投入地參與各項活動，臉上掛着燦爛的笑容，實在令人感到欣慰。甚至有街坊路過時，還以為學校暑假仍然如常上課，特意上前向我表達謝意和鼓勵。在此，我衷心感謝學校附近的商戶和鄰居，一直以來對學校的支持和讚賞，你們的每一句鼓勵，都給予我們很大的動力。同時，亦要感謝蘇校監的指示及信任。使我們繼續秉持由他提出的「經歷為本」的教學理念，陪伴學生成長。來年是三年學校發展計劃的最後一年，我們將以 “Year of Yes（我做「德」到）” 為主題，貫穿各科組，透過多元化的活動，為學生創造豐富而有意義的學習經歷，並有系統地結合理論與實踐。課程中亦會加入人工智能、數字教育、價值觀教育和國家安全等元素，期望能促進學生全人發展，將來成為對香港及國家有所貢獻的人。 |
| During the summer vacation, besides holding various summer activities as usual, the school also lent our school premises to the Heep Hong Society to facilitate their students holding activities. Seeing a group of students actively participating in various activities in the playground with bright smiles on their faces is really refreshing. Even when neighbors passed by, they thought the school was still having classes as usual during the summer vacation, and deliberately came forward to express their gratitude and encouragement to me. Here, I sincerely thank the merchants and neighbors near the school for their continuous support and praise for the school, every word of your encouragement gives us a lot of motivation. At the same time, I also want to thank School Supervisor Mr. So for his instructions and trust. Let us continue to uphold the "experience-based" teaching philosophy and accompany students in their growth raised by him. The coming year is the last year of the three-year school development plan; we will take "Year of Yes (I can do it)" as the theme, running through all subjects and panels, and through diversified activities, create rich and meaningful learning experiences for students, and systematically combine theory and practice. Elements such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital education, values education, and national security will also be incorporated to the curriculum, hoping to promote students' whole-person development and for them to become people who contribute to Hong Kong and the country in the future. |

| 暑假期間，校長和部份老師也趁機會到外地旅遊，部份老師留港消費及照顧家人或寵物，除了讓自己暫時放鬆心情，亦能親身體驗不同地方的文化與風土人情，日後可與同學分享所見所聞。我在外遊期間，也特意購買了一些書籍，內容是圍繞一位藝術家的故事與創作。相信同學們一定很好奇，究竟是哪一位藝術家呢？容我先在這裏賣個關子，留待開學禮上再向大家揭曉和介紹吧。 |
| During the summer vacation, the principal and some teachers also took the opportunity to travel abroad and some teachers stay in Hong Kong to spend and look after their family members or pets. Besides allowing ourselves to temporarily relax our moods, we can also personally experience the culture and local customs of different places, and share what we have seen and heard with students later. During my travel abroad, I also specially bought some books, the content of which revolves around an artist's story and creations. I believe students must be very curious, exactly which artist is it? Allow me to keep you in suspense here first, and leave it to be revealed and introduced to everyone at the school opening ceremony. |

| 除了外遊，我亦特意安排時間留在香港，參與了兩個非常有意義的活動，令我深刻感受到自己多年來在教育界的付出是正確的，也讓我更加堅定，希望這份熱誠可以薪火相傳。首先是八月一日舉行的排球隊五十周年聚餐。相信大家都知道，校長在中學時期曾是排球隊的成員及隊長，畢業後更獲邀擔任教練。在擔任教練期間，帶領球隊屢獲殊榮，更曾奪得第一組別（九龍區）的總冠軍。因為這些成績，學校亦向我頒發了「榮譽校友」的獎項，至今我仍是最年輕、最快獲此榮譽的校友。這次五十周年聚會，我獲邀出席，並上台致辭分享。為了這次聚會，我早在數月前已開始聯絡昔日的隊員，大家都非常踴躍，有些更專程從外地回港參與。當天一共連開了二十二席，現役球員、歷屆排球隊成員、老師、校長和家長都齊聚一堂，共同見證這個難得的盛會。

| Besides traveling abroad, I also specially arranged time to stay in Hong Kong and participated in two very meaningful activities, which made me deeply feel that my dedication in the education over the years is merited, and also made me more determined. It is hoped that this passion can be passed down from generation to generation. The first was the volleyball team's 50th anniversary lunch banquet held on 1st August. I believe everyone knows that the principal was a member and captain of the volleyball team during secondary school, and was invited to be the coach after graduation. During my tenure as coach, I led the team to win numerous awards, and even won the overall championship in Division One (Kowloon). Because of these achievements, the school also awarded me the "Honorary Alumni" award, and to this day I am still the youngest and fastest alumnus to receive this honor. For this 50th anniversary gathering, I was invited to attend and go on stage to deliver a speech and share. For this gathering, I had already started contacting former team members a few months ago; everyone was very enthusiastic, and some even specially returned to Hong Kong from abroad to participate. That day, a total of 22 tables were opened; current players, past volleyball team members, teachers, the principal, and parents all gathered together to jointly witness this rare grand event. |

到達會場時，主辦單位的成員已熱情地迎接我，但我更希望親身參與其中，於是主動幫忙佈置場地、接待來賓。看着大家在各自的崗位上忙碌，那份齊心協力的氛圍，令我心情非常激動。隨着時間推進，愈來愈多校友到場，大家一見面便興奮地聚在一起談天說地，場面非常熱鬧。由於大家實在太久沒見，大會最後要延遲三十分鐘才能請各位安坐，午宴才正式開始。台上的女司儀一開口，大家便認出她——原來是近日剛剛播完的長壽處境劇其中一位演員沈可欣師妹。她既有禮貌又真誠，一見面便主動與我交談。為了不影響她的司儀工作，我們留待午宴後才詳談。這次活動更被網上報章報導，讓更多人看見我。當天，我主要負責上台分享昔日球隊的點滴，並頒發獎品。整個午宴上，大家都只顧着重聚交談、聆聽分享，幾乎沒有好好品嚐桌上的美食。甚至到最後場地方面要求我們交還場地以準備晚宴，大家仍依依不捨地繼續傾談，不願離去。我完全明白，這份深厚的情誼，源於年輕時大家一起為排球隊奮鬥、拼搏爭取好成績的日子。雖然今天各人都有自己的生活，但那份真誠的情感，永遠不會磨滅。當大會播放回顧短片時，不少人都感動得眼眶泛紅，甚至流下眼淚，大家都非常懷念那些年的美好時光。 |
When arriving at the venue, the members of the organizing committee had warmly welcomed me, but I hoped more to personally participate in it, so I took the initiative to help decorate the venue and receive guests. Seeing the committee members busy at their respective posts, that atmosphere of concerted effort made me feel very excited. As time advanced, more and more alumni arrived; once everyone met, they excitedly gathered together to chat about everything, and the scene was very lively. Indeed everyone really hadn't seen each other for too long, the organizer finally had to delay for thirty minutes before inviting everyone to take their seats, and the lunch banquet officially began. As soon as the female MC on stage opened her mouth, everyone recognized her——it turned out to be our junior schoolmate Shum Ho Yan Janice, one of the actors in the long-running sitcom that just finished broadcasting recently. She is polite and sincere, and took the initiative to talk to me as soon as we met. In order not to affect her MC work, we left it until after the lunch banquet to talk in detail. This activity was even reported by an online newspaper, allowing more people to see. That day, I was mainly responsible for going on stage to share bits and pieces of the team in the past, and presenting prizes. During the entire lunch banquet, everyone only cared about reuniting, talking, and listening to the sharing, almost not properly tasting the delicious food on the table. Even until the end when the venue requested to return for preparing for the dinner banquet, everyone still reluctantly continued to talk, unwilling to leave. I completely understood that this deep friendship originates from the days when everyone fought and worked hard together for the volleyball team to strive for good results when we were young. Although everyone has their own lives today, that sincere emotion will never be erased. When the organizer played the review video, many people were so touched that their eyes turned red, and they even shed tears; everyone misses the good times of those years very much. |

第二個活動是在八月二十日，本校獲香港電台節目《鏗鏘集》邀請協助拍攝。這次拍攝是由立法會議員鄧飛先生推薦，他認為本校在特殊教育範疇的表現出色，因此特地前來拍攝。攝製隊首先訪問了家長，然後拍攝老師們開會的情況，最後在禮堂訪問我。我努力回答每一條問題，希望藉此讓社會大眾更認識特殊教育和融合教育。訪問順利完成後，攝影師還在校園不同角落補拍了一些片段，大約在下午三時離開。節目預計於九月中旬播出。 |
The second activity was on 20th August, when our school was invited by the RTHK program "Hong Kong Connection" to assist in filming. This filming was recommended by Legislative Council member Mr. Tang Fei; he thought our school performed outstandingly in the field of special education, so they specially came to film. The production team first interviewed the parents, then filmed the situation of teachers having a meeting, and finally interviewed me in the school hall. I tried my best to answer every question, hoping to use this to let the public know more about special education and inclusive education. After the interview was successfully completed, the photographer also took some supplementary footage in different corners of the campus, and left at about 3:00 pm. The program is expected to be broadcast in mid-September. |

| 假如我有機會分享昔日的排球隊的點滴，我真的可以說三天三夜也不會完結，因為排球隊真的影響我一生，令我勇敢地走到今天，成為今日的我。早前我接受了香港電台的訪問，節目名稱是《失敗的禮物》 ，由香港心理學會輔導心理學部製作，內容是有關我在成長過程中，遇到不同的挑戰，當時的我如何面對、克服及繼續往前走。這個節目共訪問了13位嘉賓，製作單位將相關的內容編制成書籍，用作鼓勵大家勇敢面對失敗，在七月的書展中推出，我很慶幸有一本書籍的其中一個章節記錄了我的成長故事，所以很想與大家分享。

| If I have the chance to share my experiences with my former volleyball team and my teammates, I could talk for three days and three nights and it still wouldn’t be enough. That’s because the volleyball team truly shaped my life. It helped me become brave enough to move forward to where I am today—becoming who I am now.
I was interviewed by Hong Kong RTHK in March. The programme is titled “The Gift of Failure”, produced by the Counselling Psychology Division of the Hong Kong Psychological Association. The content focuses on the different challenges I faced during my growth, how I dealt with them at the time, overcame them, and continued to move on.
The programme features interviews with 13 guests. The production team has compiled the relevant content into a book, which was launched in Hong Kong Book Fair during the July. I am very grateful that one of the chapters in the book records my growth story, so I would really like to share it with everyone. |

| 八月底，主任和老師們已經陸續回到學校，為新學年的教學和活動作準備。我們的教學團隊將繼續努力，為同學安排更多元化的學習活動，讓大家透過「經歷為本」的方式，提升學習效果，激發學習興趣和動力。最後，祝願各位同學新學年學業進步，身體健康！

| At the end of August, the principal and teachers have already successively returned to school to prepare for the teaching and activities of the new school year. Our teaching team will continue to work hard to arrange more diversified learning activities for students, allowing everyone to improve learning effectiveness and stimulate learning interest and motivation through the "experience-based" approach. Finally, I wish all students academic progress and good health in the new school year! |
